U.K. Stocks Rise in Tuesday's Trading Session

The U.K. stock market saw a positive day of trading on Tuesday, with the FTSE 100 Index (UKX) increasing by 0.18% to reach a closing level of 7,270.76.
Among the constituents of the FTSE 100, precious metals company Fresnillo PLC (FRES) emerged as the top gainer, with shares surging by 5.49%.
Wholesalers firm RS Group PLC (RS1) and general mining company Glencore PLC (GLEN) also experienced notable increases, with their shares rising by 3.97% and 2.33% respectively.
Non-ferrous metals company Antofagasta PLC (ANTO) and diversified reits business Land Securities Group PLC (LAND) secured their positions in the top five gainers, as their stocks rose by 2.09% and 2.07% respectively.
On the downside, clothing retail company JD Sports Fashion PLC (JD) witnessed the largest decrease among FTSE 100 constituents, as shares fell sharply by 6.85% on Tuesday.
Shares of food retail firm Ocado Group PLC (OCDO) and building materials/products company Melrose Industries PLC (MRO) also saw a decline, with their stock values falling by 1.93% and 1.43% respectively.
Food retail company J Sainsbury PLC (SBRY) and precision products business Halma PLC (HLMA) rounded out the top five largest decreases, with their stock values declining by 1.07% and 0.94% respectively.
The pound experienced a slight decrease of 0.19% against the dollar (GBP/USD) at $1.2732, but gained 0.26% against the euro (GBP/EUR) at €1.1738.
Brent crude (BRN00) fell by 0.2% to reach $84.26, while the yield on 10-year gilt (TMBMKGB-10Y) experienced a minor decline of 7.660 basis points to 4.652%.
