Royal Caribbean, one of the leading cruise lines, has made changes to its cruise itineraries for 2024, choosing to avoid calls to Israel. This decision comes in the wake of the war between Israel and Hamas that disrupted operations for several cruise lines.

Ensuring the safety of their guests and crew remains the top priority for Royal Caribbean. A spokesperson for the company explained, "Due to the continued uncertainty in the area, we're adjusting several itineraries in 2024."

Following suit, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings also announced the cancellation of planned calls to Israel for 2024.

To accommodate these adjustments, Royal Caribbean will redeploy its Jewel of the Seas ship from Haifa, Israel, to Boston in 2024. Additionally, the Grandeur of the Seas ship will be redeployed from Haifa to Tampa, Fla. The Celebrity Cruises brand has canceled all calls to Israel for its Celebrity Infinity ship in 2024. In addition, other itineraries have been modified to avoid the region.

It is worth noting that voyages scheduled to visit Israel in 2024 accounted for less than 1.5% of Royal Caribbean's total capacity for the year. During a recent conference call with analysts, Chief Financial Officer Naftali Holtz stated, "We don't know how long this conflict is going to go on for, which could very much inform where the consumer wants to go next year."

With safety at the forefront of their decision-making, Royal Caribbean is making proactive changes to their itineraries.
