LOS ANGELES — Angus Cloud, the talented actor known for his portrayal of Fezco “Fez” O’Neill in the popular HBO series "Euphoria," has passed away at the age of 25.

Cloud's publicist, Cait Bailey, confirmed that he died on Monday at his family home in Oakland, California. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

In a heartfelt statement, Cloud's family bid farewell to their beloved son and brother, describing him as not only an artist but also a true friend.

"Last week, he buried his father and was deeply affected by this loss," the family shared. "The only solace we have is knowing that Angus has now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus openly spoke about his struggles with mental health, and we hope that his passing serves as a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not suffer in silence."

The family also expressed their hope that Angus will be remembered for his infectious laughter, sense of humor, and unwavering love for everyone he encountered.

Prior to his role in "Euphoria," Cloud had no prior acting experience. He was discovered by casting scout Eléonore Hendricks while walking down the streets of New York. Initially skeptical, Cloud eventually met with casting director Jennifer Venditti and series creator Sam Levinson, who saw great potential in him. He then went on to co-star alongside Zendaya in the show's first two seasons.

Despite his natural talent and portrayal of Fez, Cloud rebutted the notion that he and the character were the same.

"It bothers me when people assume it must be easy because I'm just being myself," Cloud shared in an interview with Variety. "I challenge them to go and do that. It's not as simple as it seems. I brought a lot to the character, and people can choose to believe what they want. But it has nothing to do with me."

His role in "Euphoria" catapulted Cloud to fame, making him a breakout star and an integral part of the show's success. Most recently, he had been cast in "Scream 6."

HBO, in a statement, expressed their deep sadness upon learning of Angus Cloud's passing. They recognized his immense talent and described him as a beloved member of both the HBO and "Euphoria" family. The network extended their heartfelt condolences to his friends and family during this challenging time.
